If he were to perform at a top 10 level in his position he would be looking at potentially 400mili and its all guaranteed. Baseball is less taxing physically and it's all guaranteed. It's just a longer haul to get to the bag. Let's be real here Soto is a top 10 player in the league and he just turned down 440 million fully guaranteed because he knows he will get more on the market. VonKarman
If he's relatively healthy it's an acceptable deal because the extension doesn't kick in till 2024. By that time QBs will be getting 53M/Y deals. The problem with Arizona is the rest of the contracts on 30+-year-old guys.
Ray Reed
Murray is “fine” imo Hes a guy that teams with the bottom tier QBs would always like to have, and a guy that teams with the top tier QBs wouldn’t entertain trading for Id say he’s 10-12ish range...contract is a lot but obv that’s the cost of doing business whenever you’re giving out the most recent QB deal
Trojan
If Baker's shoulder was good to go, and the Browns didn't trade for Watson... how far off from this deal would Baker have been?
Kiwibrown
I love that he earns 46.1 seems like a very pretty amount of money

Especially in a league with HUGE tv / Sunday ticket deals right around the corner. The cap is gonna sky rocket and it’s already been going up steadily besides the blip that a pandemic caused. If you’re a player and smart it doesn’t make sense to take a contract longer than 3-5 years (preferably 3-4) no matter the position you play. You want as many big bites at the apple as possible, especially when each bite is juicer and more filling than the previous. Only way it makes sense to me to take 5-10 year deals is if you are constantly injured and want security, but if that’s the case the team isn’t handing you a long contract, cause they aren’t dumb. Mahomes seems like a good due he loves playing football. Also his dad played pro baseball so there is a lot less need.
MWil23
Undisclosed sources have confirmed that Kyler Murray will donate the last 1/3 of his game checks every season in a show of goodwill for his unique ability to fall off the cliff.
AZ_Eaglesfan
I get it if you are the Cardinals. They have never had a real franchise type QB that they drafted and developed. I think Kyler has the talent you want in that kind of QB... but he still isn't there. This is just a ridiculous amount of money.... but it is a young QB and they really don't have another option. Lamar is going to bankrupt the Ravens.
Kmart128
Murray isnt even a top 10 QB and he is being paid more than Mahomes and Allen. What a joke

Yeah there’s a zero chance of him being as good as Soto. Baseball is much harder to become elite than football. He’s not even top 5 at QB and he just secured over 100 million guaranteed
