AP_allday2869
Last offseason we make worst trade for a TE in NFL history. This season, we make an amazing one. I can't think of a downside with this trade. a 2nd round pick is high, but would we really have picked a player that could impact this team right away like Hock? And we still have the same amount of picks.

CriminalMind
I think his stats would go down a bit, but that’s normal when there is likely less total offensive snaps in minny vs Detroit for this year. they’re will be a learning curve, but your hoping he is peaking by late December

Just hope it’s not a one year rental. Would get a decent comp pick in return also. Nobody is factoring that in
skywindO2
Hock fits the Vikings aesthetic really well.
gopherwrestler
This I’m theory should work good. At least now keeping the safeties honest helping JJ, and Hock can beat most LB’s 1 vs 1. Also another redzone threat we don’t just have to disguise plays on.

Nobody is factoring that in I'm not worried about the cost of extending him even with Jefferson needing to be extended as well. The projected salary cap, as of right now, for 2024 (when his new contract would need to start) is about $256M, which is about $45M more than what it is right now. And with a number of veteran players that are bound to be off the cap by then or at significantly lower amounts (like Cook, Thielen, Kendricks, Za'Darius and Harry), they'll be plenty of money for both.

swede700
His dad, Tod, grew up a Vikings fan...I imagine he's thrilled...and up until the pros, attended every one of TJ's games. I bet he'll be there for every home game.
