y*so*blu
No big speech this time. The physical ability and competitive fire are still there, but last year had to be the most frustrating season of his career and you could feel it when you watched. He said he wanted to play until age 45 and he's reached that milestone. So, maybe it's for real this time. Regardless, Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback ever to play the game. Not Patrick Mahomes. Not Aaron Rodgers. Not even Joe Montana. It's Brady, period.

I used to argue for Otto Graham but after that Atlanta SB comeback I just couldn't in good conscience deny it anymore. Man is the GOAT.
biggie.
To put things in perspective what things were like when Brady first became the starter: WCW was only a few months removed from ceasing operations. Unforgiven aired the same Sunday Brady took over; Kurt Angle had hair. The Houston Texans did not exist; we were still in the Central divisions era. Pat Summerall and John Madden were your Game of the Week announcers on Fox. Pokemon was in Generation II. The PS2 was about to turn 1; Brady's 51 OVR in Madden 2002 was the lowest in the game. Yu-Gi-Oh! was released in NA a month after our victory in SB36. Edited February 5, 2023 by biggie.

pf9
There are now no active NFL players from the 20th century, the 6-division era, or who were born in the 1970s (1970-1979) or 198th decade (1971-80).
pf9
1982 is now the earliest year in which active NFL players were born. Three players born that year played in 2022: Jason Peters - born January 22 Andy Lee - born August 11 Robbie Gould - born December 6 Which of these three, if any, will play in 2023 remains to be seen. Aaron Rodgers (born December 2) was the only player born in 1983 to play last year. 5 players born in 1984 played last year: Marcedes Lewis - born May 19 Clark Harris - born July 10 Matt Prater - born August 10 Mason Crosby - born September 3 Nick Folk - born November 5 Any of these players could enter 2023 as the oldest active player in the NFL. BayRaider
Congratulstions to Tom Brady. He has been in the league so long, he was actually on the cover of a Non Madden Football game. A game that took place five console generations ago.

When Brady was drafted there were only 3 Harry Potter books and only one Matrix movie. YouTube, Google and Facebook did not exist and Billie Eillish wasn’t born yet.
PatriotsWin!
Hope whatever grievances Brady had with the Pats (BB?) are swept aside and he retires a Patriot.

Which leads to the interesting question of, if he makes it into the Hall of Fame, does he go in as a Patriot or as a Bucaneer?

If he goes in as a Buc then I'm starting a toilet paper line called 'TB 2-ply' and selling them everywhere for 500 miles around Massachusetts. Going to be a billionaire. Just selling to Kraft to supply Foxborough will be 8 digits in my account. Lol

It was a perfect storm of crap for him this year without Arians, behind a banged up offensive line, with the worst running game in the league, a banged up Godwin, and no Gronk. pf9
As Brady is considered by many to be the best NFL player of all time, I think it would be a grand gesture if his #12 was retired league-wide. The Raiders, who normally don't retire numbers, can simultaneously retire the number for Ken Stabler, since #12 would be out of circulation for all teams now. Players who are still wearing #12 would be grandfathered until they themselves retire.
