Ty21
I wonder how this gets discovered anyway. Did one of them boast about it and it expanded into an entire investigation?
Soggust
Terrible rule, even worse punishment. File it in the Josh Gordon category of "Gotta deal with unfortunate rules if you want to get paid millions in the NFL".

Not exactly sure, but reportedly, Lions let go of a couple staff members from different departments this month for the same thing. Wondering if the Lions discovered this and turned it into the league.

TheKillerNacho
Jameson and Cephus is the only name I really know on that list. Yikes, though. 17 games for gambling, but about one-half a game per sexual assault. NFL, you are clowning yourselves.

It's a dumb rule, and the players are dumber for violating it This. Nanny state rule by a enormously hypocritical league. They simultaneously embrace sports betting while punishing employees for betting on something TOTALLY irrelevant to the NFL. They're trying to police all gambling to maintain an image while simultaneously partnering with betting platforms. Super lame rule, and super dumb by players. I bet this will be addressed in the next CBA. Stop treating adults like children.

Stop treating adults like children. Or Adults could stop acting like children? It doesn't matter if the NFL embraces sports betting, thier employee aren't allowed too within NFL facilities. It's not rocket science? It's not a foreign concept. It's a easy rule to remember and only idiots are stupid enough to break said rule or think they can skirt the rules. It's similar to a a gate way drug. Even if it's not NFL related, doesn't mean it won't eventually go down that path, so nip it all in the bud. Absolutely no issue with the policy being in place or enforced.

Can you freely use your phone at work? I can. And yeah, punishing the use of gateway drugs really really benefitted society. That's a really really great example to follow you think? Threaten other individuals? Call in bomb threats? Watch Porn? Pretty sure the answer is no to all the above, you know why? It's against the rules and only an idiot would intentionally break the rules and use his phone for that purpose. This is the obvious conclusion here that gambling is a more heinous crime than sexually assaulting a number of people. WTF is the world coming to. It’s things like this which at times makes me want to not watch any pro sports sadly…………

I can use my phone to make legal drugs deals and watch porn for sure if I want to. Those are legal things.

So do the vast majority of Americans whose employers aren't in the nanny state business trying to control what their employees legally do on their PEDs.
