Series of the Week: Red Sox @ Indians

A couple good match-ups to start the week, but lets go with two leaders in somewhat contested divisions.

Probable starters:
Mon - Rodriguez vs Clevinger
Tue - Fister vs Carrasco
Wed - Pomeranz vs Kluber
Thu - Sale vs Bauer

After winning a tough divisional series, can the Sox keep it going against the surging Indians?

The Indians only series loss in the last month was to the Red Sox. How are you feeling going into this one?

Clevinger has pitched pretty well of late, as has Trevor Bauer.  Carrasco still wants his nickname to be "enigma."  He dominates one start, and the next start he really struggles the next.  We'll have to see how Kluber's ankle is after tweaking it in his last start.

Indians are swinging the bats pretty well right now, so it ought to be one heck of a series.

It's crazy looking at these two teams how close they are to one another as top tier teams in the AL...

Both teams coming in hot and looking to put away their divisions (both up 5 games on the respective second place teams); Indians winners of 8 of their last 10 and Boston winners of 7 in the same stretch. According to ESPN, Indians have the best starting ERA in the AL (3.96), the Sawks have the second best (4.00).  Cleveland has the best run differential at home in the AL (+75) and Boston has the third best away (+49). Both's rotation is headlined by a pitcher making a strong case for the Cy Young.

This is going to have a playoff feel to the series and I really wouldn't be surprised if something as small as home field advantage is what gives the Indians the slight edge.

The Tribe is on a roll, and it will be interesting to see if their SP can continue to perform well.

Clevinger and Bauer are ok as a 3/4 combo, but not great. The Indians need to stay healthy down the stretch. Their bats have been solid as well...hopefully they look this way in September/October/maybe November. Last year they got hot at the right time.
