This was my 2013 and 2014.

Draft Picks 2013:
1.4 - Dee Milliner
1.11 - Chance Warmack
1.12 - Alec Ogletree
2.2 - Justin Hunter
2.3 - Cordarrelle Patterson
3.1 - Johnathan Hankins
3.3 - Bacarri Rambo
4.4 - Gio Bernard
4.11 - Trevardo Williams

Draft Picks 2014:
1.15 - Haha Clinton-Dix
2.7 - Kony Ealy
3.9 - Jordan Matthews
4.1 - Ja'wuan James
5.4 - Trent Murphy
7.5 - Daniel McCullers
7.14 - Shayne Skov
7.17 - Brent Urban

I can say that I feel like I've gotten better since then at least.

2012: 2.14 Coby Fleener, 3.14 Doug Martin, 6.5 Phillip Blake(?)

2013: 1.16 DeAndre Hopkins, 4.6 Will Davis, 5.16 Dion Sims, UDFA Kyle Jusczcyk

2014: 1.16 Jace Amaro, 1.18 Bradley Roby, 2.6 Louis Nix, 3.16 Jeremy Hill, 5.10 Dri Archer, 5.15 Terrance Mitchell, 6.10 Kelcy Quarles, 6.17 Logan Thomas, 7.10 Kevin Pierre Louis, UDFA Andrew Norwell

2015: 1.5 Kevin White, 2.2 Landon Collins, 3.7 Preston Smith, 3.17 Michael Bennett, 5.7 Duke Johnson, 7.3 Brett Hundley, 7.8 Daryl Williams

2016: 3.5 Darian Thompson, 4.5 Artie Burns, 4.14 TJ Green (two picks before Xavien Howard lol), 5.11 Javon Hargrave, 6.3 Charles Tapper, 6.13 Stephen Anderson, 6.16 Joe Thuney, 7.9 Tyler Ervin, 7.10 Joe Schobert, 7.16 Malcolm Mitchell

I had some real bad drafts too, but in my defense I traded away a ton of picks for guys like Darrelle Revis. 2014 was a disaster because I passed on Odell Beckham Jr. and Stephon Tuitt, who were both players I really loved, for positions I viewed as bigger needs (Jace Amaro and Louis Nix). Never pass on players you love just because of need, kids.

Hello everyone! It's been another long BDL season. We've got teams gearing up for the playoffs while the others sit at home twiddling their thumbs with nothing to do. Since I'm part of the latter group I figure I'd run this. We've all got opinions about who really makes impacts in this league so let's all see who is right. For each of the categories, PM me 3 names in a ranked order for each category. Your number 1 pick is the owner or player you think most deserves that award. Number 1 picks will get 3 point, the second choice 2, the third choice 1. The owner or player with the least points will win that award.

Feel free to do as many or as few categories as you want but keep in mind that the best results will come from more people providing input. The deadline for receiving these picks will be Friday, December 20. This gives everyone a little bit over two weeks to get their choices in. I will then reveal the winners on the 21st, the day before the Bizzbowl. I've tagged everyone on the owner/co-owner list in the BDL guidelines doc (plus Blue) but if there's anyone else who you think has followed enough to be able to contribute, feel free to tag them. Without further ado, here are the categories:

Best Executive
This award goes to the owner that people feel did the best job assembling their team this season. Whether through FA, the draft, trades, or even the waiver wire, the person who wins this award was someone who signed players on good deals and found those diamonds in the rough.

Best Coach
This award goes to the owner-coach who puts his players in the best position to succeed week in and week out. The person whose gameplans are always on point and can give anyone a run for their money on any given Sunday.

Best Draft Class
This award goes to the person who you feel had the best draft class. Maybe they picked the sure-fire day one starters or maybe they found some upside guys who contributed early. Who do you think got the most value out of their draft picks?

Best Waiver Claim
This award is for the owner who had the foresight to grab that guy when nobody else would. Did someone grab a guy right before you just because he had a higher preference in the waiver order? That guy is a son of a *****, but he might also have the best waiver claim of the year.

MVP
This award is for the most valuable player. We all know what an MVP is. Which player had the biggest affect at taking his team to the next level. Who was the QB...I mean player who always made you think, "Yeah, they probably get the win because of him."

Offensive Player of the Year
This award goes to the most offensive player in the league. And by that I mean the one who puts in the most work on offense, not the biggest *******. This is the player who just makes plays week in and week out for his team's offense.

Defensive Player of the Year
This award is for the player who has the biggest defensive impact on his team. He's the guy who made your life hell when you had to gameplan for him that week, who always gives trouble to the opposing offense.

Offensive Rookie of the Year
This award goes to the rookie on offense who stepped in day one and made an impact. It doesn't matter if they were the first overall pick or someone who got picked up in the shark tank.

Defensive Rookie of the Year
This award is for the rookie who balled out on defense all year. Maybe they're a CB who shut down opposing WRs. Maybe it's a pass rusher who made life hell for the opposing QBs. Maybe it's an INT guy who blows **** up at the line on a regular basis.

Comeback Player of the Year
This award is for a player who came on strong this year after struggling in the previous one. They could have struggled because of an injury or just had a down year. Whatever the reason, they made a huge improvement on the previous year.

Breakout Player of the Year
This is for the non-rookie player who broke out big time this year. Don't call it a comeback, because they haven't ever played like this before. A guy who really stepped up out of nowhere and made an impact on the BDL landscape.

I haven't been paying attention enough to really vote for Executive or Coach of the Year, but I'll contribute on the other categories.

MVP

One of the best and worst parts of BDL is how most voters don't recognize how valuable a top-tier quarterback is. This award should always go to a QB, because no other position is anywhere close to as important or has as much impact on his team's success. In that regards, Cuba's Deshaun Watson is the clear choice for me, headlining one of the better offenses in the league (in my opinion) despite relatively poor offensive line play. Camden's Lamar Jackson obviously deserves consideration, but the talent around him is much better. Aaron Rodgers also dragged a pretty miserable Singapore offensive skill group into a home game for the playoffs.

OPOY

With the MVP being a quarterback competition, Offensive Player of the Year should be a non-QB, especially one that has had to shoulder the offensive load. With a pretty brutal receiver group and a lack of depth behind him, Ivory Coast's Nick Chubb is the engine for that offense with his all-around game. Portland's Christian McCaffrey has a similar role for his team, but Pat Mahomes and the Davante/Marvin duo at receiver makes him less vital even with injuries slowing down two of those guys. Seoul's Travis Kelce is the only truly reliable option for their team, and it was real close between him and Chubb.

DPOY

This isn't just an award for best individual season; it's for a guy who matters more to his defense. Thus, while Lancaster's TJ Watt and New Orleans' Stephon Gilmore had amazing seasons, they have a lot of talent around them at their positions that minimize what their teams would lose if they didn't play. In that sense, how in the world would Hungary make up for not having Luke Kuechley at middle linebacker? This would absolutely have been Ivory Coast's Myles Garrett if not for the suspension, though. I also considered Rome's Leighton Vander Esch and Singapore's Aaron Donald.

OROY

Can't ignore what Josh Jacobs has contributed to Gotham, but they already had LeSean McCoy and Kerryon Johnson at the position. Hungary, on the other hand, had DK Metcalf step into a No. 1 role right away with Larry Fitzgerald on the decline and TY Hilton hurt at points this season. Also shoutout to Singapore's Erik McCoy, who has the versatility to start at guard, which is a big need for them.

DROY

Hard to argue with anyone besides Williamsport's Devin Bush for this one, who came into a linebacker room headlined by Haason Reddick, Darron Lee, and Vince Williams. Nick Bosa and Josh Allen unfortunately play in a very crowded Edge group in New Orleans, limiting their impact. Camden's Dexter Lawrence ended up playing more than I think he was supposed to as a rookie, but he should also be in consideration.

Comeback Player

How is this not Cuba's Dalvin Cook? After looking like a borderline injury bust after two years, Cook has developed into a stud all-around back. Seoul's Derek Carr deserves a shoutout for his improved play over the last couple seasons, but he hasn't exactly locked down the starter job with Kyler Murray on the roster, too.

Breakout Player

As much as I want to hand it to Cuba's DJ Chark or Camden's Courtland Sutton, it's gotta be Shaq Barrett of Lancaster for me, who has come out of nowhere to post 14.5 sacks. Aaron Jones has also been a star for Berlin, and he would be in contention here with more of a workload.

Also I can't really get behind Dalvin cook as comeback player when he's basically putting up the same per game numbers he did for the second half of last season

Fair. I'm looking at just 11 games played last season and a very meager two rushing touchdowns while coming back from an ACL tear. I don't think he was fully healthy last year, late-season surge aside, and now he's top-five in rushing yardage and second to James White in receiving yardage among running backs.

Come to think of it, I think I would put Minkah Fitzpatrick as an also-considered under Breakout Player of the Year. Crazy how effective he's been after basically getting lost in no-name land for his first couple seasons.

He could, sure. Travis Frederick is a really great choice, I forgot about him.

Comeback should be a guy who has been good before and either had a down year or was injured the previous year. They came back. The breakout player is a non-rookie who hasn't really done anything of note until this season, when they broke out.

Number 1 picks will get 1 point, the second choice 2, the third choice 3. The owner or player with the least points will win that award.

This seems flawed.  If you have someone who is on 12 ballots as first and gets 12 pts and some one who is on 4 ballots as first and gets 4 points, the guys with the 4 1sts wins.  Should be More points to best voted on and most points wins.

Good point, I'll change it. I guess the lowest points thing only works in a closed ballot.

Best Executive:

Whicker - Aside from a solid draft, he also utilized FA and the waiver wire in which he got a starter nearly every week, and made a small amount of trades to keep this team ever changing and competitive. Sometimes by not making a ton of moves you help yourself the most and I think OKC is a good example of that.

Best Coach:

Rackcs- While the team had a really good foundation, Lancaster was also a team that got completely abandoned during the offseason. Rackcs was able to salvage the season despite lack of depth and nearly get into the playoffs.

Best Draft Class:

Anchorage Wolves - they had like 10,000 picks so that helps but man, among other players they got at positions like CB, those TEs were flat our producing this season. While things didnt go Anchorages way this season they've set themselves up for great success going forward.

Best Waiver Claim:

QB Kyle Allen - OKC grabbed a guy with the uncertainty of Cam Newton that ultimately helped lead them to a playoff berth, who while not beating up the world is likely the future of the Carolina Panthers as their starting QB. The brilliance of this move will travel beyond the current season.

MVP:

QB Lamar Jackson - Simply the best and most productive player on offense this year and Camden wouldnt be in the playoffs without him imo.

Offensive Player of the Year:

DeShaun Watson - There has been perhaps just one more impressive QB this year than him and it's the guy I gave the MVP nod to. Watson has been the biggest catalyst for Cuba's entry to the playoffs.

Defensive Player of the Year

EDGE TJ Watt - to me there simply isnt a more dominant guy getting pressure and getting to the QB, even beyond the actual stats this guy has shown an insane amount of intelligence and ability and will lead Lancaster to great things in the future.

Offensive Rookie of the Year:

WR DK Metcalf - He gets the nod here from me. He has been impressive and despite a few fumbles, he has been the difference maker in a WR corps that includes two well known vets, an important part of what led to a playoff berth and possibly a playoff run.

Defensive Rookie of the Year:

DE Maxx Crosby - has had a monster season and is in a less crowded situation than Allen or Bosa who are both very deserving and has very comparable production. He will be a devastating force for opposing offense for seasons to come.

Comeback Player of the Year:

WR Cooper Kupp - After a devastating season ending injury last year Kupp has bounced back with a stellar performance.

Breakout Player of the Year:

Shaq Barrett - To me he imethe obvious choice here. He has had a career year but more importantly is currently the sack leader in the NFL and has been by far the player who has changed the narrative of himself the most.
