Shanedorf
Sometimes you'll hear some fans say: "Take away Davante Adams and they have nothing else in the passing game !" Its been a popular meme since the draft ( GASP !) and its oft repeated. My suggestion is: "Don't listen to those fans" Packers have flitted around as either number 1, 2, or 3 offense all year- and if all a DC had to do was double Davante, then why did the Packers continue to win 13 games and earn the number 1 seed in the NFC ? So easy a cave man could shut them down... " Fine, those are general production stats - how about something a little more specific, smarty pants ? " Glad you asked. The Mighty Green Bay Packers went on a road trip to see the Saints- in their Dome of Doom. Unfortunately, Mr. Adams was unable to participate vs this Top 5 defense, boasting Lattimore, Janoris Jenkins and Malcolm Jenkins in their talented secondary. So...how did that work out ? Well...the poor talent-deprived Packers managed to beat the Saints in the Dome of Doom while Rodgers threw 21/32 for 283, 3 TDs, 0 INTs and a 124.9 rating despite missing his one and only WR - Davante Adams https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/202009270nor.htm So the next time somebody tries to sell you that story, ignore them

The only solution to this is to for the Rams to rush 11 on every play and hope they can pressure Rodgers enough to make mistakes.

Their "others" have to step continue to step up big time. Take for instance MVS. He make big plays but then he'll drop balls and in the Colts game he fumbled. The Saints game was impressive but what you dont mention is the Saints defense for whatever reason early in seasons always start slowly. Its the same Saints defense that the Raiders did what they wanted to do to them. So while it was impressive the Packers caught the Saints at the right time. Do you think the Packers wouldve done the same thing to the Saints Week 10 as opposed to Week 3? My guess is no. I try to tell people all the time the Saints the first 3 or 4 weeks of the season will not be all that good but then for whatever reason they get hot win like 7-8 games in a row and be the hottest team in the NFL. So again Im not taking anything away from the Packers just saying that caught the Saints at the perfect time. Malfatron
Yeah, i think Pettine is forced into a situation where he will call the correct defensive schemes to win (like, as mentioned before, the previous titans game)
TheEagle
The Packers are 6-0 when Davante Adams is out the last two years. They are 10-4 when he has less than 100 yards since LaFleur took over (10-2 when he has more than 100 yards). LaFleur has shown an ability to adjust. In this game I'd expect to the Packers to feature Tonyan, Jones, and Williams more. How good are the Rams defending against TEs and RBs (in the passing game)? Shanedorf
Saturday at Lambeau Field to decide who moves on to the NFC Championship. This will be the 3rd postseason meeting between the two franchises, with the Rams winning, 45-17, in St. Louis in the 2001 NFC Divisional Playoff and Green Bay winning, 28-7, in Milwaukee in the 1967 Western Conference Championship. Both of those teams went on to play in the Superb Owl

I don't want to be cocky, but we're good at defending just about everything. Our ILBs are the weak point, but Staley's scheme masks their weaknesses well. There will be opportunities to exploit. The key to beating our defense is protecting the QB. If you give Rodgers enough time, guys will find their way into soft spots in the zones. But if our pass rush is getting home, it's very hard to find open receivers, outside of checkdowns. And our guys rally extremely well to the ball to limit those throws. JAF-N72EX
Why are people still bringing up regular stats to try and convince how one team is going to beat the other? Regular season has very little bearing on the playoffs. Did you guys just not watch Pittsburgh's regular season top rated defense get absolutely decimated just a couple of days ago? Coaches and players say it all of the time. The Playoffs are a different animal. Edited January 13, 2021 by JAF-N72EX
LowMotorGuy
Rams will destroy Aaron Rodgers who is too skittish and unclutch in the playoffs but the Packers will still win in spite of him

rocky_rams
All these past stats, schemes, comparisons mean nothing for either side come game time. we will see what happens. If the Rams lose then I will be rooting for the Packers to win it all
