the flip side is you could Cleveland Browns your first round picks and end up with less than what CMC provides.

Very true. Not denying that but I feel they've parted with so many assets between this and the Lance trade that if these two moves don't pan out its going to hurt big time.

Sure I do. It's KC/Bills/ what? Bengals?

Your Ravens with that pathetic Defense?

The ChargeIR's with Staley as a HC?

Miami?, NE?, Raiders? Browns?, Broncos? Tenn?, Indy?, Pits? What?

The assumption was the AFC was loaded, that assumption has clearly been proven false. 4 winning records in the conference? NFCE has 3 alone!

The only singular thing the AFC can claim is 2 of the 3 best teams in the league. Doesn't mean a better or deeper overall conference.  Sorry.

And the NFC is...The Eagles who are basically a poor man's Ravens team beating up on the worst teams in the NFL. That's supposedly stronger than even the top AFC teams?

The NFC has 2 massively overachieving teams right now (Cowboys, Giants) while the AFC has 2 massively underperforming teams (Bengals, Ravens), which will most likely even out over time, but pretending like even the Eagles are on the level of KC/BUF is hilarious.

Jesus what a steal for the Niners. If they can get their injured players back on the offensive and defensive lines, they can win it all. The only concern is McCaffrey might get hurt, and their QB is garbage. If they had a good QB and they were healthy, they'd go through the NFC playoffs with ease.

This was an absolute rollercoaster of a post. Love it.

Not sure how you can make that post and read it with a straight face?

You list Bengals/Ravens who both lost to Dallas/Giants? In what universe other then having a bird as a Mascot and a Mobile QB are the 2022 Eagles and Ravens remotely similar?

Your Top 5 Defense? Your Top 5 offense? Best CB tandem in the NFL currently? TO differential? WR's? OL? Hell anything?

Other then KC/Bills not one single AFC team would want to face SF, GB, TB, Dallas (they suck in playoffs) but still? Not 1. You listed two underachieving teams, add the Rams NFC has 4.

Those 2 NFCE overachievers have 3 total loses. 2 of those were verses other NFCE teams. That NFCE trio is 5-0 vs the AFC.

Pretending the 2022 Ravens can hold the Eagles jockstrap is what's hilarious.  GTFOH with that mess.

The budget deal running backs also has way more competition now this scheme is so widely adopted across the league. Was Shannahan with Alex Gibbs as OL coach. Then Mike went to WAS and you look at that staff:

Head coach – Mike Shanahan (Retired)

Assistant head coach/running backs – Bobby Turner (49ers RB coach)

Offensive coordinator – Kyle Shanahan (49ers HC)

Quarterbacks – Matt LaFleur (GB HC)

Wide receivers – Mike McDaniel (MIA HC)

Tight ends – Sean McVay (LAR HC)

Offensive line – Chris Foerster (49ers OL coach)

Assistant offensive line – Chris Morgan (CHI OL coach)

Offensive assistant – Aubrey Pleasant (DET DB Coach)

Offensive quality control – Richmond Flowers III (Runs something called the QB Collective http://qbcollective.com/who-we-are/ that you'd recognize a lot of the coaches that participate)

The Kubiak line exists too, and obviously McVay's branch has taken off as well. McVay traded up for Gurley. LaFleur took AJ Dillion in the second when he already had Aaron Jones. Jets branch of Kyle's tree took Michael Carter in the mid-rounds after signing Coleman from the 49ers, then once Coleman was done took Breece Hall in the second. Mike McDaniels took Mostert. McVay bid against Kyle for CMC. The Browns Stefanski comes from the Kubiak line and in MIN had Dalvin Cook and in Cleveland Chubb and Hunt. Denver has Javonte in the second and Gordon. Basically all branches of that tree value RB. I would think Mike McDaniel will swing for one if a potentially generational one appears within reach for him as well.

Shanahan’s coaching tree does not get talked about as much as it should.

Herschel flashbacks? :) (I guess it's better than a Herschel flashforward these days oof)

Hey it worked for the Ravens when they drafted Jamal Lewis in 2000. Tony Dorsett in 1977 with the Cowboys. But really, a lot of the teams that won the Super Bowl with a star runningback, I'm not sure why it matters if that player was acquired early or later to strengthen the team.

Politics aside, I don't mind seeing Walker get dragged considering how badly he did for the Vikings all those years ago.

If they win a Super Bowl or at least get back then it’s worth it

It’s just a shame they’ve spent so many resources at rb just to do this.

Getting those comp picks helps and having Caff should help Trey next year as a safety valve. But man that’s expensive and a significant amount of picks.

If you view CMC as a slot WR, his '22, '23 and '24 years are less than Hunter Renfrow.
