BroncoBruin
I’m not as vehemently out on Rex as others. I would say I’m skeptical but intrigued. He has spent the last 6 years being a shock jock TV idiot, but I think that is more playing a role than actually being a regressive meathead. I alluded to this earlier but his defenses were ahead of their time and they still make sense in today’s NFL, maybe even moreso than they did at the time. It’s hard to get away from how much time he spent away, I get that. But he’s also a true football lifer.
broncofan48
Hell let's get Ryan at DC, Bring in Romo to coach QBs, and see if Collinsworth will come help with WRs

AnAngryAmerican
I’d like to know what Rex’s contract with ESPN looks like. This could be a gimmick to raise his profile for a raise.

Also, Will Petersen of Denver Sports has reported that Kris Richard (who worked with Payton in 2021 as the D-Backs coach) is also in the running for DC: Another name joins growing list of Broncos defensive coordinator candidates - Denver Sports
Dbrog24
Anyone know what others are available now that Sean has history with? Haven't all his hires so far been former Saints staff? I'd be willing to bet that he continues to build like Hackett did with all his buddies Edit: haha jinx man...that's pretty much the type I was expecting Edited February 16 by Dbrog24
AKRNA
Well, it's starting to look to me like this franchise is a bit toxic. HC candidates shying away and now not even being able to assemble a staff, even though our coordinators are both gone and the slates clean. What the hell's the matter with this place? Over two weeks and huge holes remaining to fill.

How many coaches have they missed on? Everyone is slower to hire this year. They got the most proven HC on the market.

Personnel and Broncos FO brass is all new since his time, strong stint in AZ, could be worse.

That's just too long out of the grind of being an NFL Coach. Not to mention he hasn't been a Defensive Coordinator for 15 years. With his personality, being subservient to someone rather than being the Head Coach is a ticking timebomb.
jolly red giant
Well Payton better be able to make the Broncos offence a top 10 unit - because if we bring in Joseph as DC there is going to be a major drop off on defence. On the upside - if both Wilson and Joseph are sh*te then we might get a top 5 pick and get a QB.
