1.1 Greenland- Caleb Williams QB USC

They traded away Tua, this is the right pick. He’s super talented and if everything lines up he should have a good chance to be a franchise QB. Greenland has a lot of weapons and a good starting oline to help get him adjusted early.

1.2 Raleigh- Marvin Harrison Jr WR OSU

There is going to be a Maye and Marvin debate but ultimately I think Marvin wins out as he is an elite talent at a position of need for Raleigh. They can give Bryce one more year or take the chances on possibly have a Jayden Daniels there at their second or another QB they want to take a shot on in this draft as well as go the veteran tank route. I would bet the house that this is the pick at the end of the day.

1.3 Gotham- Brock Bowers TE UGA

Whicker is known to be honest about his draft targets/intentions and he stated Bowers is who he wants not long ago. He wants to keep playing his 4 wide and Bowers will give him an element as close as possible to still doing that while also being a TE. Dak has looked good and this offense would take a next level step with Brock as the TE.

1.4 Ivory Coast- Malik Nabers WR LSU

Ruskie can be hard to read but he has alluded to his belief Sam Howell can be his franchise QB and that he doesn’t need an early tackle so the next best player would be Malik Nabers to add to the receiving corps. Not necessarily a need right now but Ruskie is a BPA guy and if what he is saying is true about his roster then Nabers will likely be BPA at this spot.

1.5 Baltimore- Olu Fashanu OT PSU

Baltimore has Sewell who with this pick can move to his real position of RT and have two very good book ends. A WR could be an option as Mike Evans ages and Dotson might be more of a BDL #3 at this early point in his career. A franchise LT is well worth this pick here.

1.6 Anchorage- Joe Alt OT ND

I struggle with this one as he probably ends up at LT in the NFL and I want to play him at RT and I know how people get about that in this league lately. But it’s a risk I am willing to take with his level of talent. If I stick him there through training camp and the season maybe people will be more forgiving.

1.7 Lancaster- Keon Coleman WR FSU

Lancaster has a need for a big bodied number one playmaker. They may have a tough decision between Coleman and Odunze at this spot but they go with the HWS specimen in Coleman to give Hurts a bonafide stud. A tackle could get a look here as well but with Olu and Alt gone they address this big need here.

1.8 Seoul- Drake Maye QB UNC

The Maye slide ends here. Richardson is still unproven and Seoul has 15 picks (again…) they just went 6-6 and have some young talent emerging. They can afford to take the risk here and if both QBs hit they have a future trade piece.

1.9 Lancaster- Rome Odunze WR UW

Another team with a lot of picks, Lancaster made a decision earlier between he and Coleman but still ended up with both. An interesting trio with these two and Pittman and some similar skill sets so who goes in the slot will be interesting but Lancaster fills their receiver need big time in round 1.

1.10 Anchorage- Dallas Turner Edge Bama

I get my choice of the edge crop here at 10 and I roll with the tide on this pick. Turner has good bend and get off and with me not being able to afford to retain Alex Highsmith and Reddick being on the last year of his contract I want to keep a solid rotation so adding Turner should allow me to do that.

1.11 New Orleans- JC Latham OT Bama

Back to back Bama picks here, NOLA can keep rolling with the shark tank tackles to get them by but I think they fill a big need at RT here with Latham. They could have some Jonah Williams flashbacks so Mims, or Fuaga could be a choice but I think the talent of Latham and how battle tested he is wins out here for the Jazz.

1.12 Rome- Jer’Zhan Newton INT Illinois

Rome doesn’t have a lot of weaknesses but they will need DT help and Newton is the top player. A tad undersized but he plays with a non stop motor and can get after the QB. Would add a nice pass rush element to the Rome defense by getting pressure up the middle.

1.13 Greenland- Jared Verse Edge FSU

Verse is a strong rusher who has a very well balanced game. Joey Bosa looks to be waning and they could use a player opposite Travon Walker up front. So Pickle goes to his his favorite school to grab a player who could instantly help out a very talented defense.

1.14 Anchorage- Brian Thomas Jr WR LSU

The “other” LSU WR. Thomas is a down the field threat who can open up an offense. I like the ability of Chase, Downs, JSN to attack the intermediate and middle of the field. I need a player who can assist in the deep with the still developing Jameson Williams and BTJ brings that. He is seldom used on crossers or underneath so I do question his lateral agility but his ability to get deep is a useful skill set.

1.15 Cancun- Troy Franklin WR Oregon

Might be viewed a little early for Franklin but he really has a nice skill set and would be a nice complement to Olave for Mahomes and the Cancun offense. He has the ability to attack at all levels. He could stand to add some more strength but as we see in the league with the Tank Dells and DeVonta Smiths of the world you can have success playing “undersized”.

1.16 Berlin- Taliese Fuaga OT Oregon State

A dancing bear at RT who can maul in the run game he is finally getting some love he deserves. If Berlin plans to eventually shift Wirfs to LT they will need a RT and Fuaga has th experience and level of play to warrant a BDL first round pick and give Berlin a great duo to protect their young QB for years to come.

Waiver Wire and Draft Picks

Hey everyone, we had an exciting finish to the season with a number of games that had playoff implications. Now some are starting their playoff runs while others (like me) are at home twiddling their thumbs. We've all got opinions about who really makes impacts in this league so let's see who is right. For each of the categories below, PM me up to 3 names in a ranked order for each category. Your number 1 pick is the owner or player you think is most deserving of that award. Number 1 picks will get 3 points, the second choice 2 points, and the third choice gets 1 point. The owner or player with the most points will win that award.

Feel free to do as many or as few of the categories as you like but keep in mind that the best results will come from people providing input. The deadline for receiving these picks will be Thursday, December 21. This gives people just under two weeks to get their ballots in. I will the reveal the winners on the 22nd, the Friday before the BizzBowl. I've tagged everyone on the owner/co-owner spots in the workbook plus a few others but if there's anyone else who you think has followed enough to be able to contribute, feel free to tag them. I have provided another post with links to all waiver pickups and draft classes. Without further ado, here are the categories.

Best Executive
This award goes to the owner that people feel did the best job assembling their team this season. Whether through FA, the draft, trades, or even the waiver wire, the person who wins this award was someone who obtained good players on good deals and found those diamonds in the rough.

Best Coach
This award goes to the owner-coach who puts his players in the best position to succeed week in and week out. The person whose gameplans are always on point and can give anyone a run for their money on any given Sunday, regardless of the talent on their roster.

Best Draft Class
This award goes to the person who you feel had the best draft class. Maybe they picked the sure-fire day one starters or maybe they found some upside guys who contributed early. Who do you think got the most value out of their draft picks?

Best Waiver Claim
This award is for the owner who had the foresight to grab that guy when nobody else would. Did someone grab a guy right before you just because he had a higher preference in the waiver order? That guy is a son of a *****, but he might also have the best waiver claim of the year.

MVP
This award is for the most valuable player. We all know what an MVP is. Which player had the biggest affect at taking his team to the next level. Who was the QB...I mean player who always made you think, "Yeah, they probably get the win because of him."

Offensive Player of the Year
This award goes to the most offensive player in the league. And by that I mean the one who puts in the most work on offense, not the biggest *******. This is the player who just makes plays week in and week out for his team's offense.

Defensive Player of the Year
This award is for the player who has the biggest defensive impact on his team. He's the guy who made your life hell when you had to gameplan for him that week, who always gives trouble to the opposing offense.

Offensive Rookie of the Year
This award goes to the rookie on offense who stepped in day one and made an impact. It doesn't matter if they were the first overall pick or someone who got picked up in the shark tank.

Defensive Rookie of the Year
This award is for the rookie who balled out on defense all year. Maybe they're a CB who shut down opposing WRs. Maybe it's a pass rusher who made life hell for the opposing QBs. Maybe it's an INT guy who blows **** up at the line on a regular basis.

Comeback Player of the Year
This award is for a player who came on strong this year after struggling in the previous one. They could have struggled because of an injury or just had a down year. Whatever the reason, they made a huge improvement on the previous year.

Breakout Player of the Year
This is for the non-rookie player who broke out big time this year. Don't call it a comeback, because they haven't ever played like this before. A guy who really stepped up out of nowhere and made an impact on the BDL landscape.
