Thing is - and while the AFC is fairly deep - the AFC South isn't.  Tennessee is largely going to be in a rebuild year.  Indy will live and die by their QB - and Richardson is probably a year away on his development.  So Houston's got to beat Jacksonville, who are on the rise, but also are going to face a 1st place schedule this season, so they may be catchable.  It's definitely a gamble, but Houston wasn't really the candidate to be back picking in the Top 5 next year people thought they would be... especially if Ryans can turn that defense into a legit unit.

Trading up with a future first round pick is almost always this same type of gamble - that the pieces come together immediately and the pick gets devalued if it works. In general, it's a bad deal because you're paying a premium to take a risk.

In this specific case, I think putting all your chips on an OSU QB having success as a rookie is nuts.

Levis....if Tennessee wants to guarantee they can get him they have to trade ahead of Vegas

Thing is, with a year of Tannehill's contract still, they could realistically just decide to sit tight and target Hooker, because they have the depth to ride Hooker's injury recovery and not feel the need to rush him.
