  1. Past hour
  2. History doesn't matter at all. What matters is the present and hope for the future, for sports at least. IMO.
  3. this must be why Newton fell https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6113739/
  4. that's just like... your opinion man.
  5. I've seen a few 2nd round mocks today. Kool Aid, DeJean, Newton, and Edgerrin Cooper are gone in most of them. The consensus seems to be Junior Colston at 41. We'll see.
  6. I’ll keep watching this game no matter what they wear. But once they stop tackling, it’s joever
  7. My unlikely trade for round 2. The Packers watch the Bills get their much needed WR and then they trade up with the Pats, moving them up to pick 34. They give up 41, 91, 126, for NE's 34 and 101 (slightly in NEs favour on the JJ chart). With that early pick in round 2, the Packers select Cooper DeJean, getting the fan-favourite pick, after all........ It could happen, it was a trade up that got them WR Watson not so long ago. They (the Packers) would still have picks in round 2 (34, 58), 3 (88) and 4 (101).
  8. conversely, i'm shocked at how much this is dominating new york sports radio
  9. I wonder if there'd be a competitive advantage for D-lineman to wear them. Like Bryce Young can barely see over the line to begin with, and now he has to look through a maze of balloon heads? #winning
  10. CB is our number 1 need. We do not have anyone currently to start with Stingley. A number 2 CB is far more important than a 3rd safety. Plus safety doesnt hold high value in the draft like it used to do.
  11. Don't sleep on Kiran Amegadjie. He's young, long, mobile which are promising traits for an OT. He played in Yale so it's hard to project him in a NFL offense, but he's the kind of high upside picks that I could see Veach make in the 2nd.
  12. hey @ET80, you up from your nap...? some are saying the Vikings' draft strategy last night mirrored Houston's, in going for a QB and then a pass rusher. put on your big boy thinking cap and tell us what you think...
  13. Hey guys, its your pal Big Toucs. I'm representing @bcb1213in his grievance.
  14. Rewatched Latham vs. Michigan, and this is such, such better tape than his game against Texas. He actually makes blocks at the second level a couple of times. Now the one bad rep that they show from that game everywhere, I think was just a mental mistake. He still shows some difficulty reacting quickly, which considering what some have said about him not lacking quickness, I think might be correct. I think he still struggles with his footwork some of the time, and there is more than one instance of him walking guys right back into the QB, so awareness of the pocket is still a bit of an issue. I think it's going to worse when he's also flipping sides, at least for a while. But it's definitely something fixable. Problems with conditioning and effort are still there, for sure. But I'm thinking it's likely more of the former than the latter, and at least a little bit based on scheme (unless he just talks a big game). Power still clearly there in spades. I'm feeling better about the pick. I still think Fashanu would have been the better choice, and maybe even Rome Odunze, but I'm coming around quickly.
  15. I wouldn’t trade up for a center, I’d stay at 51 and see who is there. I’d trade up for Cooper Dejean. I like the two top receivers left, but they will be gone at 51 and the DB from Iowa is the only one I’d trade up for…significantly.
  16. As if there wasn't a potential like 3 other teams who could realistically want/could use McCarthy lol.
  17. I like the Packer bloodlines with Jenkins. It sounds like he is stout against the run which has been an issue for us for a while.
  18. True. 7 viable NFL OL is a good start. Pressure is off to make a selection there. Saying I don’t want to see anyone else on the roster other than those 7 in a regular season game. Thankfully we can project a pretty healthy OL year. But I also believe you need a healthy quality OL to win a Superb Owl as defenses get tougher. We can draft another OL or two on day 3, and then let UDFAs wage war with our existing crew and be 9 or 10 deep including the P Squad.
  19. I would move 36 for a 25 1st from a team that picked in the teens like Oakland or Denver. Give me the best possible assets we don't need to fix all of our long term holes this year.
  20. that, and that all the media hounds in the audience just sat there, saying nothing. Payton waited for them, then had to keep talking to try to convince them that much more. you'd think from his BountyGate experiences he would have learned how to lie more convincingly.
  21. I like the #18...wouldn't have liked #12...#0, #13 or #18 were all fine with me.
  22. Well...my opinion is that preseason is the worst football on the planet. Just eliminate and carry 70 players on the roster with rolling tryouts throughout the season to refresh the roster countering injuries and ineffective play. No practice squads...just 70 players dressing game day. Also...NFL records need to be categorized for 10, 12, 14, 16, 17 or 18 game seasons in order to account for the evolution of the game and to encourage fans to learn about the sport's rich history.
  23. Personally would be pretty disappointed in ILB. OC, WR, DL, CB are all much bigger needs.
