Trojan
How does this work for Gronk's contract? Does he really get $10,000,000 out of retirement?

49erurtaza
Now if this was the news Jay Glazer would have broke last week it would have been a ton better then what he broke.
Dr LBC
1 minute ago, ACO said: Poor OJ Howard. If I were a TE needy team I would be calling them up noooooow Honestly, poor Cameron Brate. All the dude did was produce. Even when the team went out and spent a 1st on a TE, Brate produced more consistently on a per-catch basis than that guy. They seemed to realize this and signed him to an extension. Now the team trades to bring in another $10m cap-hit TE who has only one year left on his deal, and if the guy does - likely - anything and Brady wills it, Brate's going to end up cut from his deal and that money gets put toward Gronk.
showtime
Nice. Gronk is not anything close to what he used to be, but he doesn't have to be on this team. They're loaded as far as weapons go. Gronk and Howard will be a great two TEs for Brady in their two TE set.
Ray Reed
O/U on the number of games until Gronk finds his way into the pirate ship mid-game?

The Pats could conceivably try to recoup bonus monies paid out to him for unplayed games in 2019 (may not have on the hope that he might come out of retirement late in the season for a playoff push and not wanting to burn that bridge unless necessary), but if a player comes out of retirement he goes right back onto the schedule of the contract he retired from, team retaining his rights because they have him contracted and all. It's as much the contract that's traded as the player.

sammymvpknight
Gronk in his final season was NOT the Gronk you remember...he got very poor separation. Maybe he is more healthy now...but I wouldn't expect greatness out of this one.
ACO
TB already has a great offensive core. Winston was a hot mess but they were SCORING. Brady will be able to put up points too. So I won't be shocked to see them making the playoffs and going on a deep run. That is all this is about. Brady wanting to prove it was more him than the coach and Gronk going for his last huzzah (he has a year left anyways) with his BFF. Also this is a win for the Bucs. Gronk won't stick around past this year anyways. We all know it. So Brate will benefit and if they do trade Howard, they will get a more back from that pick than they gave away for Gronk.
