I still think we missed the boat with him. He should have been a linebacker, I think he could have been really, good good there. Or flexed to a more money backer 3rd safety look.

I think the Lindsay thing is interesting. Does seem like a Shanny guy. Tons of speed, one cut and go, gets hurt. 

I feel like Denver is being silly to only do a right of first refusal. Is cap really that hard up that they can't spare the extra million?

I feel like that was an important caveat that we werent told until it was like "uhhhh yeah he may never play again and oh by the way he has a huge injury guarantee"

I feel the same. He doesn’t wow me and he is what he is now. I’d really like to see the niners look safety in the 3-5 rounds. I like Nasrildeen, Tariq Thompson, Paris Ford, and kind of like Andre Cisco. 
 

If Javon Holland is sitting there in the 3rd somehow, I’d love to get him.

Here's a take that's probably wrong we have already reached out. Made a agreement based on if we replace him. Which they are trying too. In some way if they draft a QB they will get Teddy or some other option to start until the rookie is ready.

Mike Reiss the Pats ESPN reporter threw out #46 and possibly Gilmore for Jimmy. I mean I just don't see them moving on from Jimmy unless they can get someone like Watson. 

But trading Jimmy and getting an additional 2nd rounder would help in a potential Watson trade.

49ers would be idiotic not to do Jimmy G for Gilmore as 46. You have the ammo, Move up and get fields of just go with lance at 12 at that point.

If we can trade Jimmy for 46 & Gilmore (as rumoured) & trade 42 for Darnold, than that basically a 4 pick drop to get a cheaper younger QB & an upgrade at CB. Sign Darnold to a 1 year extension to keep him under contract for 2 years, and see how he does.

Yeah, but lombardi is lombardi. Kind of puts a damper on the entire thing.  It's like being endorsed by jlc

I don't know why they keep bringing up the Jimmy being able to play but not wanting to. Literally the entire time Shanahan kept saying at the earliest he will return week 16 and by then the team was out of the playoff hunt. Jimmy was never going to return after the back to back losses to the Cowboys/Redskins. 

If Jimmy didn't have such a big APY, I bet his team would have asked for a release or trade by now. 

Yeah, I think it's pretty clear it's the coaches who held him back. He could have played, perhaps at 80%, but there was no point. If he had been 100%, even in a meaningless game in week 17, I'm sure he would have played. Kittle was probably not at 100%, but no one could have stopped him from playing. I'm sure a nearly healthy Jimmy would have played also, but he was nowhere near nearly healthy. Lots of "journalists" want to drive the narrative that Jimmy isn't a good QB or a good teammate, or whatever. Lots of them never wanted him to be good in the first place. I don't know how high his drive to win, or his drive to be the best is, but these journalists try to paint him as having none. He got the paycheque and the porn stars and that's it, right? It would be awesome if all that kind of media talk just somehow really pissed Jimmy off and he came back with a vengeance. On the field. I think he's been playing afraid for years now. Time to get angry.
