He had something liek 50 college starts. Some did call him raw. I didn't get it myself. He has plenty to work on, sure, but he played in what was pretty close to a pro style offense IIRC, and yeah, he had a ton of starting time under his belt. I think people just say raw now if the QB can run and isn't yet a worldbeater. He may just not have a super high ceiling as a passer, but that doesn't make him raw. I thought he was a decent prospect, and the Falcons got him in a good spot. Plus, young QB that compares to Mariota doesn't mean you're trading Mariota for Mariota, it means you're trading Mariota for a younger, cheaper, still developing Mariota that may pick up fewer of his bad habits. And young Mariota had a couple of years of being a good QB.
