Bill Huber / SI  -   When you think of Green Bay Packers kicker Mason Crosby, what’s the first thing that comes to mind?

Is it the infamous game at Detroit in 2018? In a 31-23 loss to the Lions in Week 5, Crosby made 1-of-5 field-goal attempts and his only extra-point attempt.

Crosby finished the 2018 season by making 19-of-21 field goals and all 26 extra points.

In 2019, he made 22-of-24 field goals – at the time, a career-high 91.7 percent success rate – and 40-of-41 extra points.

In 2020, he made all 16 field-goal attempts and 59-of-63 extra points. Added together, over the past 43 regular-season games, Crosby has missed just nine kicks. He is 57-of-61 on field goals (93.4 percent) and 125-of-130 on extra points (96.2 percent).

Throw in four games of playoff perfection, Crosby has missed only nine kicks in his past 47 games. He is 61-of-65 on field goals (93.8 percent) and 135-of-140 on extra points (96.4 percent). That’s right: Crosby has missed four field goals the past 47 games after missing four at Detroit.

But how does he do in OAKYAR?

It seemed that on some holes they tee'd off from the same box.

Yes, same box but different markers.  Some tee boxes are 20 yards long, so the tips would be at the back and the next markers at the front.  Most tracks have several different tee boxes and they mix up the distances from one day to the next to lengthen or shorten the hole.

It's 2021 and we have a coach who's very aggressive at mid field.

That's good, it's not great though.

Does this relate to Crosby ?

Wasn't overjoyed at spending that much on a kicker but I would say his record over last few seasons has been exceptional.  Of his 16 field goals last season, 4 of them (25%) were over 50 yards including a 57 yarder.

Just hit the ones he's sent out to hit - which he's doing at a good clip - so, it works for me.

The cap in 3-4 years is going to be like 60% higher than it currently is. WRs have one of the highest impacts on winning outside of QBs: https://www.pff.com/war

If your idea of building a team involves getting rid of a top 3 WR then count me out.

Thanks for that link, deathstar.  The calculation that WR's are one of the higher-impact position groups is interesting and surprising, given the conventional board wisdom that WR's aren't worth much draft capital.

Perhaps the value of a good WR is underestimated even by smart analysts?

Good WR's are just a lot easier to find.
