Yeah The Gladiator 5 all the way, I was the first to vote and did not even know how that ranking worked, but yeah 5 out of 5 times The Gladiator is a better drama than The Thing.

And no way is Bridge on the River Kwai a better drama than To Kill A Mockingbird.  What a joke, one of the best stories in American literature, oh wait the most popular American novel ever written and is arguably even better as a film!  Yeah it better win at least against that, should arguably be in the finals easily.

And one of those ugly things is the attempt at special effects during The Thing, oh and Robin Wright.

Bridge on the River Kwai had way more memorable characters, especially Alec Guiness.

Also, TKAM is fairly overrated and doesnt age well.

Ummm no.   Scout Finch played by Mary Badham is easily one of the best child performances in film history, not to mention one of the most unique film characters ever and one of the best female heroines ever.  Oh and Atticus is only one of the most beloved characters in film history as well.  It was well cast and very well acted with tons of standout memorable moments.

Bridge of The River Kwai, well all of these movies are far superior to that film in ever single way.  They are all better dramas, better films, with better actors and more memorable performances and all were made in the 1950s.

On the Waterfront
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
12 Angry Men
A Streetcar Named Desire
The Ten Commandments

It is an insult that Bridge on the River Kwai even made it through over all of those outstanding other films in the 50s.  A damn insult.  Alec Guiness?  No there names are Marlon Brando or Paul Newman, or Charlton Heston or Henry Fonda.  All better performances and all better films.

Bridge on the River Kwai had an excellent narrative and remains interesting throughout its 3 hour runtime because of the character arcs

Plus some really good cinematography and practical effects.

I dont really care how good child actors are....films are better when no damn kids are in them
