But no team is more dependent on any player as Chargers are Herbert. This can prolly be perceived two ways. Brady and Rodgers have less "bad" games, so less variance in outcome. This is a pretty terrible way of measuring value, when we're thinking about an individual's best and worst games. By Passer Rating, Rodgers' third worst game (90.5) was better than seven different games by Herbert. Herbert's "bad games" are on average worse than the bad games from Rodgers, and a lot worse than Brady's. In Herbert's five worst games, he had an average passer rating of 73.9 In Rodgers' five worst games, he had an average passer rating of 79.1 (that week 1 Saints game of 36.8 really kills his average here) In Brady's five worst games, he had an average passer rating of 85.3 It's not surprising the Packers and Bucs have a good records in their QB's "bad games" considering that most of those bad games aren't that bad. Blackstar12
JT would have to tie or break the RB TD record to have a chance. I think he gets OPOY for sure though.
StatKing
I would like the people who said Tom Brady already had it locked up and Aaron Rodgers has no chance to please tell me how that's starting to look now.

stl4life07
Right now ARod is the favs with Mahomes jumping past Brady but if Stafford continues to play well and the Rams win out and take the division and in the process jump the Bucs in the seeding he will be right behind ARod challenging for it too. Brady took a huge hit tonight that I or anyone else can unsee. Can’t get shutout at home to this version of the Saints. They didn’t even score 10pts and still won. rich homie
Think its gonna be 2012 all over again. Colts make the playoffs -> Taylor, otherwise Aaron Rodgers. Just like AD and Peyton that year.

He'll firmly solidify his spot in the #4 position behind the other 3. In front of Taylor.

People really forgetting what Mahomes season looks like in totality? Brady's numbers are better across the board. A number of QB's are. Not sure how Mahomes is sky rocketing up the MVP list. Hype and a general acceptance that he's guaranteed to be in GOAT conversation down the road. Mahomes could completely flop for the next 3 seasons, people would still pound the table that he's a top 3 QB based almost entirely on what he previously did. Take away the 5k 50 TD year that he hasn't really gotten replicating statistically, I don't think people give him so much deference. I'm not saying he hasn't been good since, but there's a lot of toe sucking that goes on for him that other QBs with similar stat lines over the last 3 seasons don't get.
