Wyld Stallyns 1,225
Colts plan has been that they’re re only guaranteeing the first 2 years on Wentz’s contract and will cut him loose if he isn’t the answer. In the meantime Jacob Eason could be developed to take over once that happens. That being Eason’s last year of his rookie deal
El Ramster 4,293
Wentz nation stand the hell Up. 1 and 2 traded wow. Unreal. Who eats the $$$$$$?
Trentwannabe 1,851
So the Colts D and JT will net the Eagles a first round pick in 2022.
.Buzz 3,886
Good move for Indy. No other option provides this upside. Cost was reasonable.

Philly saves no money this year, but saves on 24M of cap space in 2022. Philly needed this way more than Indy. In that respect, Roseman really deserves credit here, he sure looks like he got max value on this trade, given the escalator. Edited February 18 by Broncofan
aceinthehouse 703
So basically it'll be a 3rd this year & a 2nd next year, cause Wentz will be injured by week 10. I give the win to Philly on this trade. Wentz is cooked physically & probably mentally as well. I don't know who will win the AFC South next season. But I can tell you, who it isn't going to be.

So they're essentially committing to Wentz for 2 years at a minimum, but will be able to move on from there if he can't get back on track.
PFM18 311
Well. Frank Reich has his guy. Let's see if he's able to get Wentz back on track. Ballard has done well here. We aren't hamstrung by this deal at all. Edited February 18 by PFM18

I'm just saying that "raw prospect" is the best they're going to do with the draft capital they have to use on a QB, so it only makes sense for Eason to be that guy as opposed to drafting someone new.
djw4bucs 309
So does the eagles just roll with hurts or maybe draft a QB somewhere in the draft, Or maybe sign a vet like Alex Smith to work with hurts for a year
BayRaider 5,238
Absolute steal for the Colts. If there’s one guy that can fix Wentz, it’s Reich. And they didn’t even have to give up a 1st.
