bucsfan333
So many iconic movies that turned into sequels. So many movies that probably greatly expanded the genre of horror.
bucsfan333
I think Aliens gets my first vote. That movie scared the crap out of me. And the series as a whole has a lot of iconic visuals. Nix that. Pet Semetary. Easily. Fred Gwynne can narrate my life.
bucsfan333
The Shining has to get a nom. It was a slowburn (as King likes to do). But it's so iconic. It's been memed to death. It's referenced ALL THE TIME.
Daniel
OK, let's get the icons out of the way: Halloween A Nightmare on Elm Street Friday 13th Hellraiser For @Outpost31, The Thing. Then for my favorites: Pumpkinhead, Children of the Corn, Scanners, The Shining, and Gremlins (not horror, but why not?)

Halloween is 1978 so not included in this one. 31 minutes ago, Malfatron said: noms: The Thing Return of the Living Dead Gremlins Evil Dead 2 They Live Predator The Terminator This ruins the movie for me, awesome story and idea but once it comes to a head and the monster is shown, wow what a disappointment and pretty stupid. Was about as bad of a monster as A Quiet Place honestly or that stupid spider thing in the original IT, the clown was way better than that damn spider thing. I gave The Thing 2 out of 5 stars just on that alone, cool idea but the imaginary idea was better that what actually happened in the film at the end. PS Predator I would include as Sci Fi and was anyone actually scared of it? I thought it was just cool and badass.
MacReady
Such an incredible decade. I nominate The Thing, even though it deserves it’s own genre. Because after all, it is... The Ultimate in Alien Terror. Edited February 21, 2020 by Outpost31
