I didn't feel it as much with The Shining. And you saw the break down of the entire family. I think the unpredictability of Hannibal was more fun and scary. Personally I enjoy the Shining more but that could just be the book nerd in me. Yes, I know SotL was also an adaptation, but I didnt read it OKAY?!
