winitall
Since apparently my last post was controversial, I suppose I can expand. No, none of Drew Lock, Cam Newton, or Josh Rosen are good starters at this point. However, Lock obviously has some believers in the league or the Broncos wouldn’t be planning on trotting him out as their starter IRL. Cam certainly wasn’t good this past year, but he has the experience to be a good backup and can at least fill in if Lock doesn’t have it. Rosen is just a lottery ticket. This Lions team is bad. Honestly, they will easily be in contention for the #1 pick next year. Might as well take some chances on a couple guys and if it doesn’t work out I’m still in great shape to take one next year when hopefully the roster is in better shape. ny92mike
Your FA transaction workbooks are back in editing mode. I've pulled the signed players from UFA but will update your rosters tomorrow. I didn't forget about KC or TB and have pulled their PS from last season out of the UFA as well. Trojan
I am really intrigued with the defensive backfield drfrey and I came up with so far. I dont know if you guys follow the Raiders at all but DBs are usually random 1 year veterans and very young players. It always ends up as a cluster in the end. Here we have Trayvon Mullen, Isiah Johnson as CB1 types (with Johnson as pure reserve for the role) Then we just landed Witherspoon as CB2, but he is swingy and last years round 1 pick Damon Arnette can play CB2 when Witherspoon is struggling. Then Arnette is pretty good in the nickel, but if he is rotated to CB our round 1 DB signing Desmond King is a good nickle. Amik Robertson continues to develop as well if Arnette is CB2 and King is FS, he is an option in the nickel. Then King is FS if CB1 Mullen CB2 Witherspoon Nickle Arnette. Malik Hooker is FS if King is playing nickle. Johnathan Abram is the SS/LB type. It's not ideal but its pretty versatile young and upside-y. I like that it allows us to take a pick if they are BPA in the draft, but doesn't shoe horn us into reaching for needs. Edit: We still have Lamarcus Joyner too! If you are interested in getting a versatile defensive back with leadership skills you can trade for him! whodatOL
Ok that was a crazy round. The Falcons weren't really active, but were able to get a very solid backup for the veteran minimum in Mullens. The Seahawks on the other hand went all in for their O-Line. After missing out on all the O-Line targets last round, we had to land something this round. That we actually get all 4 then is surprising after all! None of the 4 is an exciting commitment, but all will have a chance to fight for the starting position. Dotson in particular we trust to make the jump to the starting line up at right tackle. On top of that, we were able to get our starting corner back in Griffin. Very expensive, but due to the weak first round we have too much cap space anyway. Jimmy is an average starter that gets injured too often. Mullens and Beathard are back-ups one because his arm is weaker than a noodle and the other because he processes thing slower than a 20 year old computer. Justone2
@ny92mikeI feel the contracts going down each round function doesn't work as it should. I currently have a bid on someone that started at around 6 mil so now according to the percentages should be around 4.8 mil but it still shows the 6 in the bidding sheet. Suprised and happy to be able to get him for just a bit over his APY. Net cost for 2021 is around 800K when you subtract the difference in the top 51 player sliding off the count. Thought about going after him, but expeceted the offer to be higher.
